Me and my two friends (ages 26 to 32) joined the Camino de Costa Rica via Urritrek in february 2022. We joined for seven days in total, from day 2 to day 8, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The trek itself (at least from day 2 to 8) is very varying in terms of the surroundings, as we walked on trails through forrests and jungles, and on dirtroads through fields and villages. What makes this trek, in my opinion, definitely worth it are first of all the people, second the possibility to hike through indigineous area and third the sleeping locations, for which we always got some very different and unique, from luxurious cabins and pool to a camping site with tents surrounded by the forrest. The guides and the organisators of the camino from urritrek are very friendly, competent and extremely helpful. Due to our wish to do just 7 days as well as a day of rafting, we required some flexibility, which was gladly met and never seemed to be a problem. Furthermore, the possibility to get to know both local people as well as people from all around the world was amazing (we even got to know people, who still travelled a bit further with us in Costa Rica after the Camino). We certainly enjoyed our time with all the people from the Camino a lot and would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in hiking through the country. P.S.: Personally, I am a fairly experienced hiker in good physical condition, so I would recommend any young and physically active person the advanced trek.
